Sunday Stills - Pets
We've had lots of pets over the years - right now we have three cats and a dog - I don't count the horses in the roster of pets because they're somehow different.
Fat Cat is a pretty tabby, if a bit on the obese side:

Brega is our German Shepherd:
Simon is a young kitty who we found this summer - he loves to play, and who needs cat toys when you've got a wadded-up piece of tape?

Liza thinks Simon is an intruder - here she is stalking him:
I'm not sure how she makes this look elegant, but she does!

I love the photos of your pets. We have our new kitten on a mission to trash the house....ever so cute though.
ReplyDeletegorgeous pets Kate! We only have one of each but they are a BIG part of the family. ssh don't mention kittens, my daughter is desperate for one...I'm holding out.
ReplyDeletethose are cute cats!
ReplyDeletei would have liked a fat cat they are seriously cute
I love my pets and I see you do too!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Bella is with Simon, give her a piece of dog food or wadded paper anyday and she'll play with it all over the house. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots but the first of FatCat with the shadow, FANTASTIC!! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures. Simple toys, I like that about my pets too.
ReplyDeleteAnother GSD! We love ours too.
ReplyDeleteSimon's right, the simple things in life are what make us happy...
Great pictures. I couldn't even think of getting pictures of all my dogs... I have four living with me here and another 13 at my mom's place in Michigan. I can't have cats as two of my dogs here at home are Siberian Huskies.... cats, unfortunately, are considered snacks by them.
ReplyDeleteSomeday if I'm ever in a situation where I could get a cat I think I'd like a Pixiebob !!!
The first picture of Fat Cat is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFat Cat is a cool cat, love the shadow pic, and the look on Simon's face with the captured tape.
ReplyDeleteFat Cat and your German Shepard are my son and I's vote! We also have a very well endowed tabby cat and a part Shepard/Akita dog. My son thought I had a pic up of our dog when he was walking by...so we are quite partial to those two! :) I'll have to put up some pics of our menagerie so you can get a laugh at the sorta
ReplyDeletesimilarities!
Kate...some people think it is inappropriate to treat your horses like pets as it is not the "cool" thing to do. To me, they are very much a part of my family (and life) and I have the utmost respect for them. The difference is...they are bigger. But they still are living creatures who can love us just as much as a dog or cat would. The sad part, is that some people treat them like they were machines.
ReplyDeleteYour horses are very lucky to have you! as are your cats and dog.
Cats like toddlers, do not need store bought toys!
ReplyDeleteSimon is hilarious playing with his tape. When they do this, I wonder what prey are they pretending the object to be?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of all of them!

Lovely cats , and you r dog looks like a sweetie. Funny how cats can be elegant and graceful doing almost anything
ReplyDeleteGreat cat "action" shots! :O)
ReplyDeleteYour critters are lovely! Simon cracked me up. Our cats like to play with the plastic rings off of milk jugs. lol!
ReplyDeleteYour GSD is beautiful!
I hear ya about the horses. I posted my mare, but it still feels weird. I like what Wikipedia said about pets:
A pet is an animal kept for companionship and enjoyment or a household animal, as opposed to livestock, laboratory animals, working animals or sport animals, which are kept for economic reasons.
