I really miss this kind of interaction with horses! Brumby can be quite pushy and bites so the first few months I had to discourage physical closeness like that. I started being able to gradually relax the "rules" and invite more of it but after his time off he forgot my boundaries and was back to whacking me with his head, dancing in the cross ties, nipping my clothes etc. Thankfully he remembered pretty quickly and has been good this week. Still a long way from cuddles though!
How sweet! Panama does this sometimes, but still being kind of babyish, he always ends it by grabbing my hood, hat, or ponytail in his mouth and giving it a gentle yank. So I never have a chance to relax and just enjoy the snuggle -- I have to be prepared to pull away as soon as his mouth starts moving. ;o)
