Kate, thanks for posting this. I read the post and it's very interesting; I will have to go back and read more of her writings. Although I am not going to do a lot of dressage work with Gilly it is all good information to know and teaching the horse new things it GOOD! (good for me too)
I used to ride with Axel Steiner. He was a most inspiring coach. But he used to say that leg yields are a useless movement - they disappear after 1st Level. I don't agree or disagree; I just think that's an interesting point of view.

Terry - I would agree in part - I think of leg yields as an introductory lateral movement, good at that stage.
