Yucky Weather

It's 32F and the wind chill is 23 and it's raining.  The horses are tucked into their stalls, and did manage a few hours outdoors before the rains came down.  Yesterday we woke up to over 2 inches of snow.  I've managed one day of riding out of the past 6, due to rain, or wind or just plain cold - the horses are pretty much shed out so are uncomfortable at these temperatures without clothing - not to mention how I feel about it.  Will spring ever come?

  1. Kate, you need to move to New Mexico. It's in the upper 70's today. The only thing we have to deal with is the wind.

    Come on out.

  2. I could have written exactly this. I managed to get over to the barn today before the rains, to work Laz out on the ground for about an hour and a half. Boy, was he energetic with his schedule being interrupted by the rain and foul weather. I haven't ridden since Wed!

  4. It's been just awful here too, I've got my fingers crossed that we'll all get decent weather soon.

  5. Dan - New Mexico . . . . hmm . . . . The only problem is that curious Dawn would end up with a snake attached to her muzzle - I can just see it now!

  6. Spring is never coming so don't get your hopes up. Just kidding, we get a few nice days as a teaser and then it turns to garbage again. One day of riding here too.

  7. We've managed two days of riding - and it's snowing/raining again. Ponies are wet & muddy, ground is wet & muddy... Blech...Of course, in another month we'll be complaining about heat. At least I hope so!

  8. According to my mother and friends in Ontario, spring is never coming ! She told me she tried to drive a stake in one of her flowerbeds yesterday only to hit solidly frozen ground two inches down. That leaves about four feet of frost to come out and it's April 20th. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was sunny and 86 degrees here today.

  9. Not quite that cold here, but gray and wet again....my Boys are back in their sheets.

I don't blame you for not wanting to be outside in that kind of stuff.

  10. Please do not send us today's weather. We are supposed to be near 60 tomorrow (did have snow flurries Sunday and Monday tho).

  11. We're very opposite in weather from you this year. Spring for us means temps in the 70's, dry and dusty with fierce winds blowing 30-50 mph every day.

    I'm wishing for summer already.

  12. I think a lot of people are in the same boat....will spring ever come? I definitely feel like it never will. I've been waiting. I don't know if I would rather have just the cold or just the rain...but we seem to get both. Sigh....

  13. Oh, yucky is right. Blech! Hopefully your spring is just around the corner (though sometimes it is one long seemingly endless corner, isn't it? ;o)
