Dawn and My Daughter

Dawn is actually my younger daughter's horse.  My daughter is home for a few days, and has visited Dawn and rode her yesterday.  They have a very close bond and have been together since Dawn was 5 and my daughter was 12, more than 9 years ago.  Our wonderful p.m. barn lady took a few pictures that show how close they are - they're very sweet together - my daughter said Dawn wouldn't let her groom and insisted on snuggling instead:

  3. Love the photos--of your new header as well as the ones of your beautiful daughter!

They look so very happy in these pictures. I bet she misses Dawn horribly when she's away.

  9. Dawn looks most content to have her person back for a bit (precious photos :o) Didn't read yesterday's post until today, so I'll leave that comment here too:

I think that horses absolutely know and understand when we are struggling physically. When you [collective] have a good relationship, they are more than willing to help out. And if you don't? Well then, they're more than willing to take advantage *laugh*.

  11. Thanks for sharing these! You have talked about Dawn's love of your daughter and it was wonderful to see it in photos. I feel for both your daughter and Dawn because they have to be separated. That is hard.
